Land Selection Criteria or identify for Fecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) construction using various technology

The town of Guwahati is situated in Capital of Assam. The Population of Guwahati is approx 12 lakhs for the year 2011. There are not planned with drainage system are considered in the generation of faecal sludge. The onsite sanitation systems such as pits and septic tanks in this town is desludged using mechanical equipment such as vacuum trucks and are currently being disposed of in vacant farmlands on the outskirts of the city, which is an unsafe practice considering the associated health and environmental risks. To implement a faecal sludge treatment plant to serve the households not having access to UGD in the city. The faecal sludge treatment plant proposes to convert sludge generated from onsite sanitation systems into safe and reusable products. 

Urban local bodies have identified the land for FSTP construction. There are following points are required which is mentioned below.

1. Availability of area of required land as per selected technology for FSTP construction.
2. Existing structure should not present like water bodies, residential and commercial structures within  
    the radius of 300 meter from required land where FSTP construction will be started.
3. Distance from center of the urban local bodies to FSTP construction site.
4. Distance from Main road to required land.
5. Approach road should be present in a good condition.
6. Expected nature of soil within 4 meter depth at required land area.
7. Availability of electric power & supply line and distance between supply line to required land area.
8. Production well for water or water supply line should be available near the required land area for construction and drinking purpose.
9. Boundary wall is available or not surrounding the required land.
10. Approximate depth of ground water table and high flood level should be mentioned.
11.Required land should not be litigated and mention the land details in inspection report as per govt record.
12.Average distance and duration of emptying trip.
